Rhubarb, Rhubarb, Rhubarb........

Where forth art thou, oh Rhubarb!!!!!     Sorry, y'all!    Just waxing a little poetic today.     I don't think this is what Shakespeare had in mind though.    "Anywho", now you know what I have been thinking about for a couple of weeks.    More on this subject in a little bit, y'all.

I hope and pray everyone has been doing well since I last posted.    Wow, it has been over a week since I last touched base with y'all.    I have been busy and I just imagine that everyone of y'all have been also.    Sometimes life gets in the way of doing what we would rather be doing.

We all know people who are going through some rough patches.    Two very special ladies from my church are recouping from surgery, even as I type.    I pray for both of these ladies to have full and speedy  recoveries.    Also  a very sweet man at church has had a need for prayer also.   There is others from my church that are dealing with illnesses of various kinds.    I just keep them lifted in prayer.    I think I mentioned a couple of young men in my last post or next to the last post that needed prayers.   K and M, they still need our prayers, but both are doing better, as of the moment.

We all know people who are having health issues.  Two very special people that I have grown to love as a result of the "world wide web" are dealing with serious health issues and I pray for both of you daily.    Keep lifting our family and friends to Father God in prayer.    He is faithful to hear our prayers.    We always want God to do His will and not ours.      We are to remain steadfast in our petitions to Him.

Isaiah 53:5 says....."But He was wounded for our transgressions; He was crushed for our iniquities; upon Him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with His stripes we are healed."

This is a beautiful word picture of what Christ done for us on the cross.    He was wounded because of my sins.    He was crushed because of my sins.    The pain He suffered has brought me peace.    And I have been healed because of His stripes!     Y'all, I hope and pray that you can say you have been healed because of His stripes!     Jesus Christ wasn't crucified because of who you are.    He was crucified because of who He is!     The Son of GOD!!!!    He is the ONLY access that anyone will ever have to Father God!     God knows of NO other way to Himself, except thru Jesus Christ!      Jesus Christ doesn't heal us based on who we are, but based on who He is!     What does healing look like?      Sometimes it looks like life and living, sometimes it looks like death and entering the Gates of Glory.    Jesus Christ is no respecter of persons.     If you believe in Him and put your faith and trust in Him, He will claim you as His own.     My  hearts desire is that if you haven't accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior, you will today.     If you do, tell someone.     Then find a Bible believing, teaching, and preaching church, get in it and start digging in the Word.

Ok, now, back to my Rhubarb, Oh Rhubarb......I found a recipe a couple of weeks ago that sounded so wonderful.    Actually, the recipe found me.     I am signed up to the Betty Crocker mailing list and I get an e-mail from them two or three times a week and it will be full of recipes and the like.    A couple of weeks ago it had Rhubarb recipes.    Now, I haven't had rhubarb since I was a kid and still at home.     This is one of those food items that you either love it or hate it.     Me,  I LURVE, LURVE, LURVE IT!!!!!

I remember so vividly, my Mother baking rhubarb pies and they were the absolute best things I have ever eaten.     Rhubarb is so tart and bitter that you can't hardly eat it raw.     It looks like red celery.    And, like celery, if it is real tough, you have to peel it.    They say the hot-house grown rhubarb is more tender and doesn't have to be peeled.     You want to make sure you cut all the green leaves off, totally!    Then cut all the root end off, totally.     Do not eat it if it has been frosted on.      The green leaves and roots have oxalic acid in these parts of the stalk and it is poisonous.     If it has been frosted on, then the oxalic acid goes all through the stalk and makes what is normally, good to eat, poisonous.

So, after searching all over my town, the produce lady at H. G. Hill said she would order some for me.   And she did!!!!!     God bless my produce lady at H. G. Hill!!!      It came in yesterday and I went and loaded up my buggy and hit the trail for home.      I topped it all and then cut the root ends off and peeled it, and then I started cutting it up.     I split each stalk down the middle and then started making segments shorter than the shortest finger joint I have.    About 3/4 of an inch.     I ended up with about 12 cups of cut up rhubarb.    You can actually freeze it as is, in ziploc freezer bags and they will be good for about 3 months in the freezer.   But if you want it to last longer, you need to make a light sugar syrup that will act as a preservative and it will prevent freezer burn.   But it will last in the freezer up to a year when it is sugar syrup packed.    It doesn't take a lot of sugar syrup.    Just fill your bags as full as you want them, without over filling and then pour your "boiled and cooled" sugar water, just to the top of the rhubarb and seal bag.     Remember to leave enough room in the bag for the water to expand or it will burst the bag.

Now for the recipe.     You can find it by going to bettycrocker.com and search recipes, looking for "Five-Ingredient Rhubarb Squares".

1 box Betty Crocker Super Moist yellow cake mix
3/4 cup cold butter or margarine, cut in small pieces
1 3/4 cups sugar ( I used 1 1/2 and it was still too much for my taste)
3 eggs
4 cups sliced fresh rhubarb

1. Heat oven to 350*F. Reserve 2 tablespoons of the cake mix.   In a large bowl, cut butter into remaining cake batter with a pastry blender or two table knives, one in each hand, pulling through ingredients in opposite directions, until crumbly.   In bottom of ungreased (next time I bake, I WILL GREASE my pan) 13x9-inch pan, pat 2 cups of the mixture.   Reserve remaining crumble mixture for topping.   Bake 13 minutes.

2. In large bowl, beat reserved 2 tablespoons of cake mix with sugar and eggs, with electric mixer on medium speed till creamy.   Stir in rhubarb.   Pour over partially baked crust.   Even the rhubarb out over the cake.   Sprinkle remaining crumble mixture over top, as evenly as possible.

3 Bake 45 to 50 minutes or longer till golden brown and center is set.   (Next time I will start checking my cake at about 40 minutes.)    Cool slightly before serving.   Serve warm or cold with whipped cream, or without.   Store covered in fridge.                   Makes 16 servings

**4 cups frozen, slightly thawed rhubarb can be used in place of fresh. (2-16oz. bags)

**Can use food processor on pulse, on and off, to cut butter into cake.

This is a great recipe.    When I made mine, I used about a 1 1/2 cups sugar.    I will use less the next time I make this cake.     I love the sweet tart taste, so I may even bring it down to 1 cup.

Also, if you like rhubarb, and you know you like it, you may want to try stewing a bit of it.    Just toss a couple fist fulls of rhubarb in a small sauce pan, add about a tablespoon or two of water, no more than that though, and a couple tablespoons sugar and heat on medium high for about 5 to 7 minutes and let cool.    It is really delish, if you know you love sweet tart food.

Eating rhubarb really brings back some of the good memories of yesteryear.     It was a real treat when we had rhubarb pie.     My mother was and still is one of the best cooks in the country.    There was nothing she wouldn't tackle, at least once.   hahaha

Ok, now, this is where it goes to getting under my skin y'all.   Most people that make pies or anything else with rhubarb always has to mess it up by adding strawberries with it, or some other fruit.    (left hand on hip, right hand shaking finger, and stomping right foot---hahahaha)    Folks, now this is my opinion, but I will be sticking to my opinion.     When you bake a pie with rhubarb, and put strawberries in it; it AIN'T rhubarb pie no more, y'all!!!     It becomes strawberry pie with a bit of rhubarb in it.     Some things are not to be mixed!    Gasoline and matches are not to be mixed!     Bleach and ammonia are not to be mixed!    Rhubarb and strawberries are not to be mixed!     Don't bake a rhubarb pie with strawberries in it and expect me to like it.  gggg   I won't!    I want only rhubarb or only strawberry.     I bet you would never guess in a million years what one of my pet peeves is, would ya'!!!   hahahaha     Oh well, we all got one or two, and that is just one of my many pet peeves when it comes to tradition.     (k-i-s-s)    Keep it simple sisters!     Whew!!!   I feel so much better, y'all, after getting that off my chest!    hahahahaha

Now that you have learned a bit about rhubarb and think it may be something you too, would like to try, ask your neighborhood produce person.    He or she will be glad to check about it for you.

I hope you enjoyed your visit here today.     I wish I could share a piece of rhubarb  squares with you and a cup of decaf.    Since I can't, I will say "God Bless Y'all" in such a special way today!     I hope and pray that y'all will make your way back here again real soon.    You never know what you will find on here, but whatever it is, we'll have a little bit of fun while checking it out.

Ladybug, sweetpea loves you and has a piece of rhubarb square in the freezer for you.   hahaha

Till we meet again, God loves y'all and so do I!   hugs, Patty

Happy Hump Day

Good morning y'all and Happy Hump Day!   It kinda reminds me of the commercial I seen on tv here back where the camel was walking through the work place asking everyone if they knew what day it was.   It was hump day and he finally got to be the center of attention.  I don't even remember what the commercial was about, I just remember the camel was excited because it was "Hump Day".   So, I say "Happy Hump Day" to all of y'all and hope you are busy making plans for your wonderful weekend ahead.

Here in the United States, it is Memorial Day weekend.   A day set aside to remember the fallen, who have given their lives in the service of this great country, the United States of America.   I know lots and lots of plans are being made, but I don't know how many of those plans actually involve remembering the fallen and those who have served our country.   I do hope and pray that each one of us will remember those heroes, dating back even to the early days of this country when it was still a fledgeling country.   The founding fathers fought hard for this democracy and the principles on which this country was built.   I just pray that our actions and deeds are pleasing, not only to the founding fathers, but also to our Heavenly Father.   This great country was built on the teachings from the Holy Bible.   Even our money has the inscription "In God we Trust" on it and some would love to have that removed.

Who is that God?   The same God that spoke this universe into existence!   The God that this great country has been built upon is the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob.    The God of Israel!    The same God that went before the Israelites as a cloud in the day time and a pillar of fire by night!  The same God that provided manna from heaven!   The same God that parted the Red Sea!    The same God that caused an axe head to float!   The same God that preserved Daniel in the lions den!    The same God that was with the three Hebrew men in the fiery furnace that was heated to seven times hotter than usual!  The same God that caused Balaam's donkey to talk!    I could go on and on and on.    Back up to the donkey talking, God caused that donkey to talk for a purpose.    I submit to you that there are a lot of donkeys talking today, but they are not talking because God has caused them to speak, they are talking because they are filled with the lies of the enemy.

We've taken God out of our schools, out of our government, out of our work places, and out of our hearts and it shows.   Our leaders don't acknowledge God as the foundation on which this country was built.   Any structure that has been built, is being built, or will ever be built has to have a strong foundation for that structure to withstand the elements of time.   When we rip out the chief cornerstone of any standing structure, it's not long before you see cracks and breaks and then the whole structure will crumble.   Any new structures that doesn't have a chief cornerstone, will soon collapse.  We have ripped God out of His rightful place in this great country and I pray every day for our country to put God back in the forefront of everything we do.

So, this Memorial Day, let's not only remember the fallen heroes of this great country, lets also remember God, as the God who goes before us, making straight our paths.   We can't fake it till we make it!    We either trust God or we don't.    I pray that our leaders will humble themselves and repent and ask God back to His rightful place in this country.   Join me, as I pray that God will forgive our grievous offenses and make right, the hearts of all men, and that we will flourish as God intended, with Him at the forefront of all we do.

I have a neat project for y'all today.  It is one of those box cards.  It is the first one I have ever done, but it won't be the last one.  Hope you enjoy it.
This one was fun!!!  Everywhere you look, there's something to see.
I cut my box from white card stock.  Then the overlay panels from party hat paper.
I inked all the edges of the party hat paper before I placed it on the box.
All around the base of the box I used chipboard decorative pieces, premade.
I used my cuttlebug to cut two circles and a green glitter butterfly.   One circle has "it's you day" on it and the other one has a cupcake on it.
I just put little feminine items around the flaps of the box.  It is a girly girly card.
I will be making more of these because they are fun, really fun.   If I remember correctly, this came from http://paperpulse.blogspot.com   I will check for sure and make amendments here as necessary.   Have fun with it when you make one.   We should always make something as if we are making it for ourselves.

I hope you enjoyed this little project.   It sure was fun and made me smile a lot.

As I leave you this morning, I leave you with this Holy Scripture: 2 Chronicles 7:14  if My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

I promise you that if this is the prayer of our hearts, all of us, God is faithful and will hear our prayers.   He is attentive and waiting for us to call out to Him.

Have a wonderful rest of the week and a splendid, God filled weekend.   God loves y'all and so do I.  Blessings and hugs y'all, Patty

Happy Sunday....

Hello to all of y'all and "Happy Sunday"!    Do you fell blessed to have the breath of life in you today?   I sure hope so.   I always say that every day I open my eyes after a night of sleep and rest is a "good" day.   If my feet hit the floor, then that's a "great" day.   So, if your feet hit the floor this morning, then my friends, it's a great day.

I got to go to church this morning, that makes it even a greater day.   It's always great to be with our Christian brothers and sisters and spend a bit of time with them and just be in the presence of God and study His Word and worship and praise Him for all He's done in our lives.

I know that each one of us has prayer needs and requests.   There are many in my church that are sick and need lifted in prayer.   Some are going thru illness and have uncertain days ahead of them, and some are in life transitions, and still others just need encouragement.   So I ask you to help me pray for all who need prayer, which in essence is all of us, the planet wide.   We all need prayer.  So my friends, just know that I have been, I am, and I will continue to lift all of you in prayer.   I do have 2 special prayer requests that I ask you to pray specifically for.  Both are young men with illnesses that God is taking care of even as I type this.   One is "K" and one is "M".   Please lift these in prayer.   God knows who they are.

I wanted to share a project with you today.   I think I have mentioned having a small collection of Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.  Well, I keep plodding along and trying my best with them.   I have decided that practice may not make perfect, but it sure can't hurt.  hahaha
This is a kit from Crafters Companion.  They are listed on the left hand side of my blog page.   They have issued 3 projects of the month so far.  My prayer is for them to keep doing that.  You get everything to make a card, all the pieces for it, plus, this one had two markers in it.  I got another kit that had six markers in it.  And then another one that had three markers in it.
So, I colored my butterfly, best as I could, anyway.   The butterfly was to be purple, so I used the accent pieces that came with the kit to cut different colors of accent pieces.  I used purple and pink cardstock instead of what came with the kit.   I will use what came with the kit on another card.    I also used some clear, square, faceted stones, but I colored them with my SN alcohol markers and got the perfect color stones.  Yay!!!
As you can see, I used my Cuttlebug and an embossing folder on some of the accent pieces.   I love the look of that.   Then I took one of my little ink pads and rubbed it over the top of the embossing to make it pop a little and then I inked the edges a bit, too.
I put a light coat of faux stickles, glitter glue, on top of my butterfly.   For some reason, the camera did not pick up the glitter like it usually does.   My bad.
I still have a time with getting my coloring and blending to the point of seeing a lot light areas amid the darker areas, highlights.   It just looks like one big blob, but hey, I keep trying.  And I keep asking if any of y'all have any suggestions, besides, just "give up".   hahaha   Well, I ain't gonna quit, at least not just yet anyway.   Clicking my purple sparkly shoes together and saying; I "will" get it right, I "will" get it right.............

I hope you have enjoyed taking a peek at my project.   I have more in store, so just keep checking back every once in a while, ok.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.   I hope and pray that you will take a minute of two to thank God for all He has done for you in your life.   We must remember, always, that the ground at the foot of the Cross is level for each and every one of us.   No matter your status in life, rich, poor, popular, unknown, millionaire, pauper, free, behind bars, saint, sinner,  we all come to God the Father, the same way, by way of the Cross.   There is no other way known by God, to come to Him, except by and thru Jesus Christ.   I hope and pray that if you don't know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, that you will repent of your sins and ask Jesus Christ to forgive you and to cleanse you and to become Lord of your life from this day forth, to be a living sacrifice for Christ, pointing others to Him, by the way you live.    Living for Christ will not be the easiest thing you've ever done, but....it will be the most rewarding thing you've ever done.

I pray for y'all to have a wonderful rest of the day.   I challenge you to do this:  the next person that you see, with your own eyes, tell that person: "Jesus Christ loves you, and so do I."

Ladybug, I hope and pray today has been a most spectacular day for you!  Sweetpea loves you bunches.

Be blessed, y'all!   God love y'all and so do I.   Till we meet again, right back here, take care.   hugs, Patty

I felt like making a Quilt

Wow, that's a funny title for a blog post, isn't it?    Well, it will make sense in a few minutes.   ggg    I don't know about where y'all live, but here in my neck of the woods, today has been a really great day.    Y'all, this is my kind of weather.  Finally, it feels like Spring.   It was in the upper 50's most of the day!   Yay!!!!   There was a bit of rain and mist in the early morning, but, by afternoon, the sun had popped out and was "doin' it's thang!"   Such a beautiful afternoon!    I hope and pray that where ever all y'all live, it was beautiful there also.

I had an FCE meeting to go to today and we was all bringing different types of salad.   One lady brought chicken salad, another brought tuna salad, we had potato salad, a pasta salad and a congealed salad.   I brought a salad also.   I wanted to share with y'all a wonderful, healthy, fresh, vibrant salad that is really easy and nothing but "good for you" stuff in it.   Here's what it had in it:

Avo-mang-toes Salad

2 avocados, diced
2 mangoes, diced
2 tomatoes, diced and drained of any excess juices
1 tablespoon finely diced jalapeno pepper
1 large lemon, juiced over all of the above

Toss all of the above in a good sized bowl, stir well.   Refrigerate for a few hours or overnight.   Stir again before serving.

It is such a colorful dish.  It is really cooling.   Very refreshing.

This is what I call a "make do with what you have" salad.   I knew if I had anything to bring home, I wanted it to be healthy.   Now, don't get me wrong, I LOVE all the not so healthy stuff, that's why I'm a little too fluffy.   ggg

I hope if you try this, you will let me know what you think of it.

Now, about the quilt.   Last year I made a cardstock quilt for a swap.   I really liked it a lot and I wanted to make myself one as close to it as I could, so, I finally got around to doing that last night before I went to bed.   I was really happy with it and I hope you are too.
It is five layers.    I used a file from the Silhouette Store that was a card.   The top two layers was from the original card.
I brought the two pieces up in my designer software and enlarged it and then done an offset on it, and another offset, and then the final offset.   I finally got it enlarged to where the back white piece of cardstock would fit on the width of an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of cardstock.
I inked around all the edges and let that dry.  Then started putting the layers together, back to front, with my scrappy tape.
The very top piece was the hardest piece to place perfectly.   Believe me, it's not placed perfectly, but as good as I could get it anyway.
After I got all the layers adhered together, I took a white souffle pen and done my pen stitching around all the layers except the back white layer and the purple top layer.   I was really happy with the finished project.    I may try to age it a bit more and then put it in a frame.   I had been wanting to make one for myself ever since last year, but just hadn't done it.   It really helped me to just make something for myself and have fun with it.

I really hope that you have enjoyed my quilt project.   Quilts are very comforting for so many reasons.   My mother used to make quilts back in the day for utilitarian purposes, to keep us warm.   Then after we all got grown and had homes of our own, she made all of us a quilt.   She has made her grandchildren quilts.    I have made several quilts myself, over the years.  So, I love quilts and the ones that my mother made for me are very special.    When my father died in January 2012, a former Pastor's wife came to the funeral home to see me and brought me a quilt that her mother had made for her.   She gave me that quilt because she loves me and knew I would cherish it, and I do.   So, when I was making the little quilt last night, it made me think of all the quilts that I have been blessed to be given, and blessed to have been able to make the ones I have made.   I hope y'all have quilts that have special memories tied to them.   I hope you know the comfort of wrapping up in one of those quilts.   There's just nothing quite like it.

As I leave you this evening, I ask you this question, do you have any fears in your life that are unresolved?    There is stuff that comes up every once in a while, in our lives, that causes us to have fear, as a first reaction.   The second reaction we should have is to seek the Lord in prayer and turn those fears over to Him and He will see us through our fears.   We all know people who are going through uncertain days.   We just don't know what lies ahead for us, but, our Creator does.

Psalms 34:4  I sought the LORD and He answered my prayers and delivered me from all my fears.

When we have the uninvited interruptions in our lives that make us fearful, we need to seek the Lord in prayer first.   God never turns a deaf ear to someone who is earnestly seeking Him.   God is faithful and He does hear our prayers.    He will deliver us from our fears.   David knew about fear and he sure had his share of fear and he also had reasons to be afraid.   But, when he sought the Lord, the Lord delivered him from all his fears.

I hope you seen something here that you enjoyed and if you did, tell someone.   You can even leave a comment for me, if you choose to.   I would love it.

Ladybug, I hope you have had a spectacular day.   Sweetpea loves you!

Goodnight y'all.   I hope and pray that all of you have a wonderful night of refreshing, restful sleep.   God love y'all and so do I.   hugs, Patty

Fun Project

Good evening folks!    I pray that y'all have had a wonderful day where ever you are.    I got up this morning to a bit of rain and it has been a bit cooler today, here in my neck of the woods.   That has been a welcome relief from some of the heat we have had so early in the spring.

I have a project to show y'all.   I'm not gonna say what it's for or who it's for, in case Ladybug Momma may be reading this before I see her.   ggggg    We are planning on running up to see my mother out of state for a bit and I have been working on this project for a while and finished up today with the box.

This wonderful project comes from  Extreme Cards and Papercrafting at:

http://extremecards.blogspot.com/2011/05/mothers-day-flower-box-pop-up-card_07.html

This was a fun project.   The box for the card came from:

http://ligayatg.blogspot.com/

Ligaya shares her files with followers of her blog.   She has some amazing designs.  I love all she does and am a fan for sure.

I hope you enjoy what you see.
I love that it looks like your looking outside of your kitchen window, overlooking your favorite flower box.
I did not realize until I had already finished the card and moved on, that the stem on my daffodil in the very center is a bit too short.  Oh well!!!   I'm am still waiting for me to get my act together and make something right.  ggg
This was really such a fun project.   When I got all my little flowers made and in the box, I used some of my liquid glittery goodness and blinged up the flowers a bit and that just made me happy.   Gotta get my bling on!  gggggg
This is the backside of the flower box.   I really love the flowers.  They can be used for so many different projects.
For the curtains, I dug around in my stash of stuff, (technical term) and found some of those paper doilies that you can buy in pkgs. of 20 or 30 for a little of nothing and I used a whole one and a half of another one.   I cut both in half and adhered one to the top with a section of gross grain ribbon to gather in the center.  Then I done the same thing on the sides and I think it turned out to be the perfect little curtains.
The finishing element to this card is the box with a piece of acrylic in the window and a piece of sheer wide ribbon just tied in a tight, square knot.   I loved the simplicity of the ribbon.   I sure hope y'all have enjoyed looking at this project and I hope you get some ideas.   Also, check out the blogs that I posted to see what they are up to.   I so appreciate the kindness and generosity of so many across the web waves that give freely of their time and talents.

As I leave you this evening, I leave you with one of the commandments from the Ten Commandments.   It is the first of the commandments with a promise in it.

Exodus 20:12  Honor thy father and thy mother, that thy days may be long in the land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee.

God wanted His people to live in peace down through the generations in the land that He promised them.  He wanted His people to have a respect for authority.   Respect for authority starts at home; or at least it should start at home.   We live in a day and time when there is little to no respect for authority; in the homes, in the schools, in the work places or anywhere else.   We are bombarded from the air waves, modern music, tv programs with children treating their parents with utter disrespect.   Children telling parents what to do.   To use just a little bit more bad grammar, "that ain't right!"

The word "honor" means to value or treasure; acting in ways that shows courtesy and respect to them.   God places great value on the position of parents, so, God is telling us that we are to value our parents.  (We are not to obey or honor anyone; parents included, if it means disobeying God.)   God wants us to have strong families across the world and in order to have strong families, that starts with proper respect of parents.   The basis for a stable society literally starts with stable families.

I know a lot of people will be celebrating Mother's Day this weekend and I hope and pray as you do that you remember this scripture and the promise that comes with it.  To all you wonderful Mom's out there, I say "Happy Mother's Day" to you!   I can't wait to get to see my mother.

Ladybug, sweet pea loves you!  Thanks for being my Mom!!

Good night y'all, God loves you and so do I.   hugs, Patty

Cards made at Card Ministry Night

Good early evening, y'all!!!   I hope y'all are doing well this wonderful, fine day!   When we have days as beautiful as the last few days have been, you just have to say, "God is Good"!!!    As I look out through the woods and forests, I can now see that all the trees are fully leafed out now.   Just barely a month ago, I seen no greenery, now here we are, in full blown Spring with temps in the high 80's.    Wow, wow, wow!

I haven't posted in a while, I just needed to be still.   I am not fully over the vertigo that has been a minor issue for the last little bit, so, I have to just do what I feel up to doing, when I feel up to it.   But, I have been managing to get some cards put together that I have been working on for quite a while.   So, all the time was not lost.  Yay!    So, I will share those projects real soon.

Tonight, what I wanted share was some cards that I made at Card Ministry Night at church last night.   I just have to say that the lady that is over this project really works hard at getting this together each month.   She does it out of the love that she has for her Lord and Savior and for what He has done for her in her life.   I am more than honored to call her my sister in Christ and friend!    Last night there was six of that came together to make cards and we had a blast doing it.   Every table was full of laughter and fellowship and the sweet, sweet, Spirit of the Lord was with us.   Praises to God for His presence and goodness at all times.

She had prepared for us to make four cards last night.   Three of the cards was for general use and the fourth card was specifically for Memorial Day and Fourth of July.   By the time I got the first three cards made, I was pooped out, so I didn't get the fourth one made.   I am so wishing now that I would have made it.

When our card lady gets the cards together, she gets together enough for each of us to make two or three cards of each design and then we get to keep one and give the others to the Card Ministry and then the ladies in the Sunday School Class gets to send cards to whom ever they wish to send a card to.   It is really fun on Sunday mornings watching all the ladies look at the cards and oohing and aahing over them and who they are going to send cards to.   It is a great time.   I did take pics of the cards I made last night.
I think the punch for the flowers and leaves and then the stamps to stamp them with are StampinUp.   I enjoyed this making this card and putting all the layers together.
I think most of the products on this one is StampinUp also, I'm not sure.   The butterflies are cut out using a Sizzix Embosslet die that cuts and embosses at the same time.   It may be StampinUp, I'm not sure.   I don't remember seeing that particular embosslet at the Sizzix store.   I really liked making this one also.   It was really fun.   What is so fun about these cards, is that each one of us can take the same pieces and put the cards together just a little differently enough that they are all unique.
I think this may have been my fav card of the night.   It just makes me happy when I look at it.   I think the combination of the dotted swiss background and the ever so delicate flowers reminds me of a dotted swiss dress that I had when I was a young girl.   Dotted swiss has always been a fav of mine, simply because of the memories of my mother sewing for myself and her, many years ago.   Anything that helps you remember the good stuff is great!!!

This is what we done last night and I'm really sorry that I don't have the fourth card to show you, I could just pinch me.   hahaha

As I leave you this evening, I ask you this question, simply because I have had to ask myself this question more than once over the years.  Do you rejoice in hope?   If your hope is in Christ Jesus, then you should rejoice in your hope.   Our hope in Christ Jesus will be fulfilled when we breathe our last breath and enter into the kingdom of heaven.   But, until then, we can and should rejoice in our hope.   The world does not and can not offer the hope that Jesus Christ freely gives to those who choose to follow Him.   If you rejoice in hope, then more than likely you will be patient through tribulation.   We all have times in our lives that call for much patience.   If we don't develop patience in our Christian walk, we will find ourselves repeating the same old, same old, over and over.   If we can be patient in every day life, then, when the biggie stuff comes along, we have a greater chance of being patient and waiting on the Lord through the trying times.  One  of the surest ways of rejoicing in our hope and and being patient in tribulation is by being constant in prayer.   We should always be in prayer, what ever we are doing, we should have that communication with our Father God, Abba Daddy going on.

Romans 12:12 Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.

This particular scripture comes from a passage in Romans Chapter 12 where Paul, thru the inspiration of Jesus Christ is urging Christians to be living sacrifices for Jesus Christ.   What does a living sacrifice do?   Point others to Christ!   Christ died for us and we should be living for Christ!    If we are living for Christ, that means we should loving those around us.   We should be living in such a way that they see Jesus in us.    They should see us rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, constant in prayer.   Prayer should be a priority in our lives.   I challenge all of us to make Romans 12:12 the theme of our lives.   Who's up to the challenge?

Well, my friends, I pray y'all have a blessed evening, wonderful night of refreshing rest and a great day tomorrow!   Meet me back here in a day or two and see what else I have to share with you.
